Several Marlins win medals at meet

EDMONTON — Provincial Summer Championships
Erika Stward of the Red Deer Marlins Swim Club struck gold in the 17-and-over girls 100-metre breaststroke in the provincial
championship at Edmonton during the weekend, posting a winning time of one minute, 26.07 seconds.
Stewart also earned a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle with a time of 1:07.44 and was fourth in both the 200m individual
medley (2:49.24) and 100m backstroke (1:17.41).
Meanwhile, the Marlins Catherine Alcorn picked up a silver medal in the 14-and-over girls 100m butterfly (1:13.91) and a
bronze in the 200m I.M. (2:42.14).
Also claiming bronze medals in individual events were Rebecca Miller in the girls 14-and-under 100m fly (1:15.82) and 13-14
50m fly (32.91), Sydney Wall in the 15-16 girls 50m fly (33.50), Jennifer Engler in the 15-and-over girls 100m fly (1:18.10),
Amy Andrew in the 13-14 girls 50m free (29.19) and Sefrah Daviduck in the 12-and-under girls 400m free (5:26.26).
The Marlins 13-14 girls 200m medley relay team picked up a silver medal, as did the 13-14 girls 17-and-over 200m free relay
foursome.
Marlins swimmers were also members of six medal-winning regional relay teams, with the 13-14 girls taking gold while setting
a new provincial record in the 200m freestyle, and the 15-16 boys 200m medley team claiming silver.
Winning bronze were the regional teams entered in the 13-14 boys 200m freestyle, the 15-16 boys 200m free, the 13-14 girls
200m free and the 13-14 boys 200m medley.

Fourth - Amy Andrew, 13-and-over 400m free; Rebecca Miller, 13-14 200m I.M.; Sydney Wall, 15-16 100m free.
Fifth - Andrew, 100m free; Sefrah Daviduck, 12-and-under 200m free; Jillian Engler, 13-14 100m breast.
Boys
Fourth - Kahn Daviduck, 13-14 100m breast.
