Laing gets four medals at Innisfail swim meet
INNISFAIL — Brendan Laing of the Red Deer Marlins Swim Club captured two gold
and two silver at the Innisfail Dolphins Meet during the weekend.
Laing
won the boys’ eight-and-under 100-metres Individual Medley in one minute 51.87
seconds and the 25m butterfly in 22.52 seconds while finishing second in the 25m
backstroke and 25m freestyle.
Taylor Laing
won two gold, a silver and a bronze.
She won the 9-10 year-old girls’
100m I.M. in 1:36.08 and the 25m butterfly in 18.29 seconds while taking second
in the 50m breaststroke and third in the 12-and-under 400m freestyle.
Jillian Engler won the girls’ 13-14 year-old 100m breaststroke in 1:26.34 and
the 200m I.M. in 2:58.58 and was second in the 50m butterfly.
Sefrah
Daviduck captured the 100m freestyle in 1:12.48 in the girls’ 13-14 year-old
class while taking third in the 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.
Mairad Bast won the nine-10 year-old girls’ 50m breaststroke in 47.75 seconds.
Catherine Alcorn won three silver medals in the girls’ open 800m
freestyle, the 15-16 year-old 50m butterfly and the 13-and-over 400m freestyle.
Samantha Statchuk was second in the nine-10 year-old 50m freestyle and
third in the 100m freestyle while Kahn Daviduck was second in the 15-16 year-old
boys’ 100m backstroke.
Isabel Adams took third in the eight-and-under
girls’ 25m butterfly and Quinn Daviduck was third in the 15-16 year-old boys’
100m freestyle.
