Marlins win aggregates
The Red Deer Marlins won five aggregate medals at the Ponoka Gators Invitational
and one at the Edmonton Huma Invitational during the weekend.
The
Marlins dominated the eight-and-under girls’ division in Ponoka with Claire Halford taking gold,
Isabel Adams silver and Kyra McMurray bronze.
Geordan Andrew won bronze
in the nine-10 year-old boys’ division and Avinash Badoni took third in the
11-12 year-old boy’s category.
In Edmonton, Catherine Alcorn placed
third in the girls’ 15-16 year-old division.
In Ponoka, Halford won the
50-metre freestyle in 46.13 seconds, the 100m Individual Medley in two minutes
6.45 seconds and the 25m freestyle in 20.91 seconds.
Adams captured the
25m backstroke in 25.44 seconds while taking second in the 25 and 50m butterfly
and 100m I.M.
McMurray won the 25m butterfly in 25.86 seconds while
finishing second in the 25m freestyle and third in the 50m freestyle.
Andrew was second in the 9-10 year-old 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle and in
the 14-and-under 100m butterfly. He was also third in the 9-10 year-old 100m
I.M.
Badoni won the 50m backstroke in 59.46 seconds to go with a third
in both the 50 and 100m freestyle.
Alcorn won the 15-and-over 100m
butterfly in 1:14.33 while finishing second in the 15-16 year-old 200m I.M. and
13-and-over 400m freestyle and third in the 13-and-over 200m freestyle.
