31 Marlins qualify for provincials

WETASKIWIN — Thirty-one members of the Red Deer Marlins Swim Club qualified for the summer provincials, set for
this weekend in Calgary, at the regional qualifier during the weekend.
Claire Halford, Taylor Laing and Brendan Laing led the Marlins capturing six gold medals each. Lauren Bettenson
had five gold and a silver and broke the provincial 50-metre backstroke record.
Jennifer Engler won four gold with Adrian Christ taking three gold and Kyra McMurray three gold and a silver.
Emilie Unrau and Sefrah Daviduck both won two gold and two silver while Jane Gosling and Jillian Engler had
two gold, a silver and a bronze each. Connor Stalwick had a pair of gold and a silver while Sydney McMurray
and Danny Henry had a gold and two silver each.
Tyrel Brown finished with three silver medals with Jon Snydal and Michael Pearce winning two silver and two
bronze each. Kaden Schiller, Emily Simon and Kiana Froese finished with two silver apiece.
Adam and Sydney Hucal both won a silver and two bronze while Owen Halford, Julie Gosling and Jordan Molyneux
each had a silver and a bronze.
Victoria LaSalle won one silver while Tyler Driesen had three bronze, Holly Elliott two and Pierce Shybunka,
Hannah Morrison, Manny Gesshe, Josh Froese, Gavin Stalwick, Liam Stalwick, Carson Schiller and Elena Stalwick
one bronze each. The Marlins also won the overall team aggregate title.
